Our Programs

South Side Learning & Development Center is a member of the National, the Ohio, and the Columbus Associations for the Education of Young Children, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce, the Franklin County Human Service Chamber and the Ohio Association of Child Care Providers. We offer high-quality early education and care for children from 6-weeks to 5 years old. Families can enroll their children in our Birth-3, Early Head Start and Head Start classrooms.

Early Head Start

The earliest years have been shown to be the most important to children's growth and development. In Early Head Start our outstanding teaching staff works to promote healthy development for infants and toddlers (from birth to three years of age) and supports family well-being during the early years.

Head Start Pre-K

Head Start serves children from three to five years old. Our program, in partnership with the YMCA of Central Ohio, focuses on Kindergarten readiness. Our team of qualified teachers help young learners gain the cognitive, social and emotional skills needed to succeed in Kindergarten and beyond.

SSLDC Preschool

Interested in preschool programming, but do not meet the requirements for Head Start? The SSLDC Preschool program ensures exceptional early childhood educational opportunities are available for all of Columbus’ children and families. Our curriculum provides young learners the skills needed to be successful in Kindergarten.
