“First and foremost I would recommend SSL&DC to anybody that’s in need of child care. I have three small children and we have been with SSL&DC since my oldest was two years old (she is now six years old). SSL&DC has taught my kids so much. Not only have they helped my children, they have went beyond their duties and have helped us as a family. When my husband walked out on us I went to the center every day crying not knowing where our next meal would come from or how I would pay the bills or even wash my kids’ clothes. The staff would take me in the office, dry my tears and give me reassuring hugs and tell me everything would be alright. The staff at SSL&DC gave me the strength to keep going and not give up. They have given us food, have helped me pay my electric bill and have even provided me with cab and bus fare when I needed to take my sick baby to the hospital. Because of them, I knew I wasn’t alone and they are always there for me. I really love SSL&DC and so do my kids. My kids even have to stop in the office every morning for a hug or their day just isn’t right. We vote SSL&DC the #1 child care and early education center in the whole wide world!”

“My granddaughter attends classes at South Side Learning & Development Center. Around four years ago I had to make a decision to raise Kilee on my own and it was something I never would have imagined would take so much time and energy. Then came the sickness, asthma, allergies and constant trips to the doctors. It was costing time on the job and my boss was constantly threatening me about losing my job. I had a babysitter but one day when I picked up Kilee I was told she could no longer watch Kilee and I was without anyone! I lost my job of seven years and had no one to watch Kilee while I looked for work. Then I found SSL&DC! They have helped me in every way. I finally had someone I could depend on and, even without a job, they have been beside me. If it weren’t for SSL&DC I am sure my granddaughter and I would be in serious despair. SSL&DC is so very important to me and my granddaughter and I don’t know what we’d do without them! Kilee loves SSL&DC and it gives me great peace of mind when my granddaughter wakes up every morning and is excited to go to school. I thank God for SSL&DC!”
